Child rescue
More than 1,000 children are rescued from the same death each year. Severe malnutrition takes thousands of infant lives.
Children with severe malnutrition suffer from muscular system problems; their faces appear rounded due to inflammation and their hair is thin and discolored. They develop skin blemishes which later dry out, crack, and eventually fall off. These children can hardly move, they are extremely weak and without immediate attention, will most likely die.
Treating a malnutritioned child requires hospitalization, specialized medication, nutritional supplements, and the boarding of a parent or legal guardian so that the child is not alone.
Rescuing a child requires the use of an ambulance, a medical team, a truck to reach remote areas and on several occasions, a helicopter for areas high up in the mountains.
Funding a Rescue for a child costs approximately $ 1,200. The life of a little one is priceless.
