Drinking water
More than 98% of the water in Guatemala is contaminated and causes thousands of deaths each year, unfortunately most of them are children. Drinking contaminated water leads to a number of deadly diseases, such as diarrhea, malaria, typhoid, cholera, worms, parasites, and many others. Diarrhea from contaminated water is the leading reason for death in children under the age of five. In some towns, families have to travel hours to find water, bringing it back in buckets. Others walk to public laundry stations, which provide water service that is neither filtered nor disinfected.
It costs us an average of $ 5,000 for a shallow well and $ 10,000 for a deep well. Help us in this cause with a donation.
