Drinking contaminated water leads to a number of deadly diseases, such as diarrhea, malaria, typhoid, cholera, worms, parasites, and many others. Diarrhea from contaminated water is the leading reason for death in children under the age of five. In some towns, families have to travel hours to find water, bringing it back in buckets. Others walk to public laundry stations, which provide water service that is neither filtered nor disinfected.
